EB has designed, manufactured and commissioned a world leading S-lay system for the Allseas Audacia. Delivery involved turnkey supply of the various pipelay system components together with an integrated control system. Following successful manufacture and testing the equipment was shipped to Rotterdam for installation and commissioning on the vessel prior to pipelaying trials.

EB S-lay systems provide precise control of the product through the use of variable speed drives and synchronisation of line up buggies and tensioners during the laying process. Safe and efficient operations are achieved through the use of an integrated control and monitoring system with automatic interlocks. Where possible EB ensures commonality of components to aid maintenance and stock control, and employs modular design to allow reconfiguration and upgrade should this be required.

Reliable operations with maximum productivity are ensured by automated control, high quality components and fabrications, and fibre optic data networks – these improve noise tolerance, simplify upgrade or expansion and reduce the chance of failures.
