EB Launches Consultancy Service

June 2007

Having established a strong and experienced team of engineers dedicated to designing, building and supplying elegant engineering solutions for the offshore environment, the Engineering Business (EB) has launched an in house consultancy service, EBC.

The aim of the consultancy department is to leverage the experience and talent within EB to provide concise and high value reports that save clients time and money.

"The requirements of our consultancy clients ranges from concept design work to analysis and review of existing pieces of equipment," explains Andrew Stevenson, Lead Consultant at EB. "We have already undertaken work on preliminary deck layouts and a number of FEED (Front End Engineering Design) studies."

"The FEED studies generally involve developing and reviewing a range of potential solutions to an offshore challenge. Deliverables typically include 3D general arrangement drawings, operational schematics, weight and centre of gravity reviews and cost benefit analysis. Working closely with the client, EB can then recommend the most appropriate technical and commercial solution to be developed further. Once concept development is complete, EB can provide a fast track design and build service using its manufacturing resources."

EB can provide consultancy services on a fixed price basis against an agreed scope of work or at hourly rates. Framework agreements can also be put in place to allow clients to rapidly draw on the service as required.

"We are delighted to add the consultancy service to our range of offerings," says Dr Tony Trapp, Managing Director of the rapidly expanding EB. "We have earned a global reputation for completing turnkey design and build projects on specification, on budget and in time. EBC allows our customers to access EB's proven design expertise and project management skills at the early stages of a project reducing risk of technical, schedule or commercial overruns."
